Sigiriya Rock Fortress is Built in the fifth century, Sri Lanka’s Sigiriya fortress attracted the attention of British archaeologists in the 1800s, who were amazed by its leonine rock art and beautiful frescoes. The name refers to a site of historical and archaeological significance that is dominated by a massive column of rock nearly 200 meters high and has 1,200 Steps till the top of the rock.
