Trekking to the Illam Tea Garden gives you the marvelous vibe of hiking in Nepal. As known as ‘Queen of Hills’ Illam hill town has an amazing landscape of sloped and lush green tea gardens, mountain views and holy sites. A serene walk into the tea garden of Illam offers many beautiful sightseeing spots, short hike towards the easy slopes through mountain streams and waterfalls. Illam might be an excellent gateway from your city life. Illam is home to many valuable cash crops like cardamom, potato, ginger, red round chilly, broom grass, etc. So, it is commonly called one of the richest districts in Nepal. Not only this, but Illam also boasts its richness in terms of its cultural diversity and variations in landscapes. Lepcha, Brahmin, Gurung, Magar, Rai, Limbu, and Chettri tribes of people inhabit this area especially.
Our airport representative will pick you up from Kathmandu International Airport and transfer to your hotel. Your guide will meet you up an hour before the trip begins either on the same day of arrival or next day morning.
Our airport representative will be receiving you at Tribhuvan International Airport. You will be then transferred to your respective hotel in our private tourist vehicle.
After a hearty breakfast, at 8.30 am your sightseeing trip will start. You will have a private vehicle and a professional tour guide at your disposal. Today we will visit Hindus and Buddhists sites, Pashupatinath Temple and Boudhanath Stupa. Kathmandu Durbar Square (World Heritage Site) This complex of palaces, courtyards and temples, built between the 12th and 18th centuries, used to be the seat of the ancient Malla kings of Kathmandu. There are also three museums inside the palace building.
You can watch over the valley from the top of a hillock on its western side. Swoyambhu is also known as Samhengu and the Monkey temple because of the countless monkeys living in the premises.
Pashupatinath is one of the most sacred Hindu shrines in the world and lies 5 kms east of the city center. The richly-ornamented pagoda houses the sacred Linga, or phallic symbol, of Lord Shiva.
It is 2500 years old Buddhist stupa in the Valley built in 5th century with four pairs of eyes of Lord Buddha in four cardinal directions keeping an eternal watch over the people and their doings. You will find Buddhist pilgrims from Tibet going round the stupa spinning the prayer wheels.
Asan is a very popular and crowded local market in Kathmandu. It is inhabited by mainly Newar people (indigenous people of Kathmandu).Meanwhile, people from all over the nation and even foreigners are regular customers and visitors there.
This day we have our breakfast at Dom Himalaya Hotel, or your point of stay and head towards the Tribhuvan International Airport. We take a flight to Bhadrapur. Then, a scenic drive through green pastures and lush green forests take us to Illam Bazar. Overnight at a hotel in Illam Bazar.
We take an early morning drive to Maipokhari, which is a small holy sacred Maipokhari. We hike around this serene pond and taste the purely organic tea of Illam. Visiting the local Cheese and Tea factory on this day add a highlight.
Antudanda viewpoint offers stunning sunrise views. We take tea or coffee with breakfast, interact with local people in the restaurant. Then, we will visit the Lepcha Museum. Lepcha is a certain type of indigenous people in Illam district of Nepal. Visiting this museum will reward you with overwhelming culture and tradition of Lepcha tribes of people. We get back to Illam Bazaar and overnight stay at a hotel.
Today, we take an early morning ride to Bhadrapur, from where we fly back to Kathmandu. And, in the evening we will host farewell dinner in a traditional Nepalese restaurant with cultural performances.
