Snorkeling and Freediving Trip around Nusa Penida

4 hours (approximately)
Offered in: English

NOTICE! There are 2 main spots where you can see manta rays in Nusa Penida - Manta Bay and Manta Point.

The first one is the closest, and most snorkeling trips go there. It is usually very chaotic and messy, there are a lot of people and boats.
The further spot is Manta Point. It’s a much longer journey but you might get more chances to see mantas and fewer people.

Manta Point is much more recommended and this is what we offer in our trips.

Meeting point

The trip starts from Nusa Penida island, not from the Bali mainland! You have to come to Nusa Penida on your own a day before the trip or on the same day by the first speedboat from Sanur. The Freedive Nusa is located at Nusa Penida in the village called Desa Ped in front of Coco Penida Cafe.

End point
This activity ends back at the meeting point.

What to expect

We meet at the freediving school (Freedive Nusa on Google Maps) at 10 am, give you all the equipment (including wetsuits and long fins if needed), and provide a detailed briefing about Manta Rays, rules of interaction, and safety.
Then a comfortable speedboat will pick us up right from the school.

Our professional freediving instructors will be on the boat as in-water guides.

You will visit 3 different and very attractive spots.

#1. Manta Point
Swimming with Manta Rays.
If there are no mantas in Manta Point, our crew will try to find them in our spots.

#2. Toyapakeh Wall
Beautiful underwater wall full of fish and colorful corals.

#3. SD Point
Relaxed drifting along the shallow reef. High chance of seeing turtles.

IMPORTANT NOTICE
1) The route and meeting time might be adjusted to weather conditions!

2) Please, understand that this is wild nature. Our crew and instructors always do their best to find mantas, but we can't guarantee to encounter them!

3) Please, be mindful that the water might be very choppy!
Have a light breakfast and take seasickness pills in the morning (we will provide them).
You must be confident enough to swim in the open ocean!
