Gorillas are descendants of ancestral monkeys and apes found in Africa and Arabia during the start of the Oligocene epoch (34-24 million years ago) that have inspired many great artists amongst them is Dian Fossey. It is on this tour that you will see what they saw. Follow them in the wild and although strong and powerful, Gorillas are generally gentle and very shy. There’s a lot to cover in 4 days, but still time to relax, take it all in and live in a dream of your African Safari.

    NB: - You'll be collected from the airport or your designated Location. - Accommodation before the tour starts can be arranged for an extra cost. On arrival in Kigali, you will be welcomed by our guest representative and naturalist driver guide who will help you transfer your luggage to the waiting safari vehicle and proceed with your drive to your host property. Meals & overnight at Kigali Marriot Hotel.     Transfer by road to Volcanoes National Park

    Volcanoes National Park

    Early rise, after a hearty breakdown you will check out and embark on a half-day city tour of Kigali. Highlights include visiting Camp Belgium and Kigali Genocide memorial center. Later you will proceed with your drive to your host property on the footer of the scenic volcanic mountain of Sabyinyo and Bisoke – both mountains are shared by the Volcanoes National Park. This scenic drive through rural Rwanda is approximately 3hours. Check-in at your host property followed by a relaxing lunch. Later you will join your naturalist driver-guide to embark on a sundowner drive to the twin lakes Burera and Ruhondo as you watch the sunset over the mystical volcanic mountains of Rwanda returning back to the lodge in time for dinner.     Gorilla Tracking in Volcanoes National Park

    Gorilla trekking in Rwanda is a globally sought after wildlife experience – and rightfully so. In Rwanda, tourists can spend up to one hour with gorillas, and get within five feet of a Gorilla. It is a life-changing experience. Experts estimate that there are only 900 mountain gorillas still in existence – and one-third of these are in Rwanda. Descend the volcanoes and return to the lodge for lunch.

    Iby'iwacu Cultural Village

    In the afternoon you will do Iby’iwacu cultural village experience. Iby’iwacu cultural village is located 45 minutes drive from your host property and is an interesting cultural excursion to enlist on your day list. The village convinced ex poachers to turn their back on poaching and instead perform for visitors. Visiting the village, you can discover the traditional house of a local king, watch an authentic medicine man prepare herbal mixtures, try your hand at bow and arrow shooting or enjoy cultural dances and drumming performed by people from the local area. Meals & overnight at the Lodge.

    On ward back to Kigali

    Karisoke Research Center - Dian Fossey Camp

    Farewell breakfast and check out. Join your naturalist driver guide and transfer back to Kigali for your onward flight – En route, you will visit the Karisoke Research Center - Dian Fossey museum. The drive back to Kigali International airport is approximately 3hrs and this includes scenic stops en route. Please advise your flight time back home so that you are able to check-in time. Please note that check-in for international flights should be done 2 hours prior to departure of the flight. In the departure hall (after check-in) you will find a small restaurant, a sitting area, and several duty-free shops for your convenience.
