On Day 1, we'll pick you up bright and early from your place in Kigali at 7am. We'll head down to Nyungwe Forest National Park, a journey of about 5 to 6 hours with a pit stop in Butare town for a tasty lunch. Once we reach the park around 3pm, get ready for an exciting canopy walk tour. Guided by our experts, you'll stroll along the Igishigishigi trail, spotting various trees, birds, and monkeys. Then, brace yourself for the thrilling canopy walkway experience! Suspended over the forest floor, you'll soak in breathtaking views and gain a rare glimpse into the forest canopy. After 1.5 to 2 hours of adventure, we'll head to Chimpanzee Lodge for a delicious dinner and a comfy overnight stay.
Day 2 promises more excitement as we embark on a chimpanzee tracking expedition. Rise and shine at 4:30am for breakfast before meeting our park guides at 5am. We'll drive to the starting point of the trek, where the real jungle exploration begins. While the exact timing of chimp sightings is unpredictable, encountering these lively primates in their natural habitat is truly magical. Be prepared for a heart-pounding experience as we follow the chimps through the forest, listening to their calls and watching their playful antics. After an hour of chimpanzee spotting, we'll head back to Kigali, stopping for a scenic lunch by Lake Kivu in Kibuye town.
