Discover in a unique way perhaps one of the most colorful and famous staircases in the world. Unlike many others who stop only to take a photo, you'll get insights from Romario, a young Carioca boy who decides to tell you the story of the Santa Teresa neighborhood and the artist Jorge Selaron who designed the unique staircase. As you climb the stairs, your narrator will help you discover some of the unique tiles that deserve a closer look. You will also discover the historical background of the Morro do Desterro , the Monastery of St. Teresa built in 1750 and the history of the old tramway. Your tour will also take you past the Museum of the Ruins. Even if you do not enter it, you will be able to learn some of its stories and see the painting by Joao Barbosa on the wall. Your walk ends in front of the Museum of Chacara do Ceu, where you can admire the beautiful sculptures that decorate the facade.
