Ko Kret is a small island in the Chao Phraya River, just north of Bangkok, Thailand. It’s known as a settlement of the Mon people, whose famed terracotta is on display in the Kwan Aman Museum. This traditional earthenware is still produced in potteries along the river. On the northeastern tip of the island, Wat Poramai Yikawat is an important Buddhist temple featuring a reclining Buddha and a leaning stupa

Follow a path along the banks of the Chao Phraya River to experience the rhythms of daily life outside the capital city as you pass by villages, temples, and small farms.
Next, head away from the river and into the rural surroundings to see rice paddies and fruit plantations. Koh Kret is home to craftsmen that are known for their distinctive pottery, which features a reddish-black glazed surface and intricate designs. The island's residents are descendants of the Mon people, and they have maintained their traditional ceramics for generations.
