Selous Game Reserve was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1982 due to the diversity of its wildlife and undisturbed nature. It boasts Tanzania’s largest population of elephants as well as a large number of lions, leopards, African hunting dogs, buffaloes, and hippos. Hyenas, giraffes, impalas, and zebras are also common. The birdlife in Selous is prolific. Over 400 different species have been recorded here, including the globally threatened wattled cranes and the corncrakes.

Early morning at 07:30 pick up from your hotel in Dar es Salaam and drive to Selous Game Reserve. You will have a picnic lunch on the way and the journey will take about 5hours through the most unexplored and untouched areas in Tanzania. In the afternoon embark on a boat safari, where you’ll admire hippos and crocodiles in their natural habitat. Meals and overnight will be at Mloka safari lodge
Breakfast in your accommodation followed by full-day game drives in the reserve. Selous is home to a large population of elephants, a big number of buffalo, and wild dogs. After breakfast, walking safaris, the most exciting experience, unique in Tanzania, accompanied by rangers armed for about two hours and drive back to Dar es salaam. A visit of Maasai and fishing villages on your way to Dar es Salaam can be provided if required by clients. You'll be arriving in Dar es Salaam, where you can be connected to your international flight or flight to Zanzibar or the last ferry
