Your journey starts around 6/7 AM with a pickup directly from your hotel in Kathmandu. After an early start, you’ll embark on a scenic bus ride to Bhulbhule via Besisahar. Upon reaching Bhulbhule, transfer to a shared jeep for the drive to Dharapani. Along the way, you’ll be treated to picturesque views of waterfalls, snow-capped mountains, and iconic suspension bridges. The route follows the Marsayangdi River, passing through charming villages like Ngadi, Bahundanda, Syange, and Tal. Once in Dharapani, register your trekking permits at the police checkpoint and settle in for the evening.
Leaving Dharapani, the trek leads into cooler alpine regions with stunning views. Walk through Tibetan villages like Bagarchhap and Danakyu, with apple orchards dotting the landscape. You’ll be greeted by panoramic views of Lamjung Himal and Annapurna II. Continue trekking through the villages of Timang and Koto before reaching Chame, the headquarters of Manang district. Chame offers plenty of amenities such as cafes, shops, and even internet access. Don’t forget to stop by the impressive mani wall at the village entrance!
Today's trek takes you through dense rhododendron and pine forests, passing over meadows and steep ascents. Cross multiple suspension bridges before arriving at Paungda Danda, a majestic curved rock face. Continue through rolling hills until you reach the tranquil village of Pisang. The trek lasts about 5-6 hours, giving you time to absorb the stunning mountain views and rest at your tea house.
After breakfast, set off toward Manang, a highlight of the Annapurna Circuit. The day starts with flat terrain, followed by a gradual ascent to Humde. Along the way, enjoy panoramic views of Annapurna II, III, IV, Gangapurna, and Tilicho Peak. The path also offers a glimpse into Tibetan culture as you pass through Upper Pisang and Ghyaru. Though the northern trail is longer, it rewards you with unforgettable views of the Himalayas and serene alpine lakes. Upon reaching Manang, unwind and soak in the unique local culture.
Today is reserved for acclimatization to help your body adjust to the higher altitude. Explore Manang village, hike up to glacial lakes at the base of Gangapurna, or visit the local monasteries. Manang is also home to a cultural museum where you can learn about local traditions. Relax, hydrate, and prepare for the trek to Yak Kharka the following day.
After a restful night, begin your trek to Yak Kharka, passing through local settlements and cultivated farmlands. The path is a steady but moderate ascent, allowing you time to acclimate. Cross suspension bridges and marvel at the ever-changing landscape. The trek takes about 2-3 hours, making it an easier day to enjoy the surroundings before reaching Yak Kharka for an overnight stay.
Today’s hike to Thorong Phedi takes about 4-5 hours with a gradual incline. The altitude makes the pace slower, but the mesmerizing views more than make up for it. Take plenty of breaks to hydrate and enjoy the scenery. Upon reaching Thorong Phedi, take the time to rest well and prepare for the big ascent to Thorong La Pass.
Start early—around 3 AM—to conquer Thorong La Pass, the highest point on the Annapurna Circuit at 5,416 meters. This is the trek’s most thrilling day, with breathtaking panoramic views at the summit. After a rewarding climb, descend towards Muktinath, a sacred site for both Hindus and Buddhists. Spend the night in this peaceful village, reflecting on your achievement.
After a well-deserved rest, begin your journey from Muktinath to Pokhara by jeep or bus. The drive offers scenic views of the lower Mustang Valley as you descend. Once in Pokhara, celebrate the completion of your trek by relaxing by the lakeside, exploring local restaurants, and enjoying the vibrant atmosphere of this lakeside city.
