Meet your Guide at the only water fountain in the main square of Plateau in Praia (also known as Alexandro Alburguergue Square). It is very small and all taxi drivers or anyone knows here. The square is surrounded by the Church of Nossa Senhora da Graça, the Town Hall and the Palace of Justice.
The tour will end at the largest local market in the country, Sucupira Market. From here the guide will help you take a public bus or taxi to return to your accommodation.

Next, forward to the historical center of Plateau and start the walking tour through the Jaime Mota Military Barracks, passing by the Presidential Palace, and the Alexandre Albuquerque Square, the city main square which has a water fountain at the centre. In the Municipal Market (closed on Sundays), meet locals and find a diverse range of local fresh organic fruits and vegetables.
Visit the Diogo Gomes monument, who was the Cape Verde's discoverer, and learn the history of the island's discovery.
