    The Karesansui Rock Garden in this temple is world famous. One of the highlights of the site is the Kyoyochi pond,which is famous for its water lily, which will reach its peak in May and July.

    It is a temple famous for its building called ' Kinkaku Sariden' . Unfortunately it was burned down in the 1950 fire, but it was rebuilt in 1955 almost as it was. The three-tiered luxurious Kinkaku (Shariden) has gilded gold foil in the second and third layers. Kinkaku is a unique structure that uses different architectural styles for each layer.
