You will reach this important square dedicated to the patron saint of Lecce, Sant'Oronzo, who protected the city from a plague epidemic. Here, see the remarkable Roman amphitheater and the Renaissance Palazzo Sedile.
The Basilica di Santa Croce is one of the main landmarks of Lecce. This church is a stunning example of the peculiar Lecce Baroque style. The facade is breathtaking: its rich decorations and its elegant rose window will dazzle you.
Stop at the triumphal arch that, together with Porta San Biagio and Porta Rudiae, marked the entrance points to the city center.
