Our second stop will be the Laguna del Junco, located 19 kilometers from the port, inside a large volcano, now extinct. Its name comes from a type of plant that is common in the surrounding area, called "junco". It is fed only with rainwater, in times of drought it decreases to 4m, and when there are heavy rains it increases its level to 6m.
The third point of visit is the Galapaguera del Cerro Colorado, which is one of the few sites where you can observe Calandrinia galapagosa, an endemic plant of San Cristobal. This Galapaguera has been built to improve the status of the tortoise population of the island. Along the trail, you can observe different species of native and endemic plants of Galapagos.
