    The St. Pauli-Elbtunnel, opened in 1911 - also known as the Alter Elbtunnel in contrast to the New Elbe Tunnel, which has existed since 1975 - passes under the Norderelbe with a length of 426.5 meters and connects the northern harbor edge at the St. Pauli landing bridges (north entrance with two tunnel tubes) ) with the Elbe island Steinwerder (south entrance).
