Pickup details:

Pick-up and drop-off from major Fairbanks hotels are included (not Airbnb or private residences). If you are staying at an Airbnb, please provide the address and we’ll provide the nearest pick-up location.

Pickup is between 7:00–7:30 AM. Please wait in the hotel lobby 5 minutes before your scheduled pick-up time. It is a 30-minute drive to our kennel, where you will be greeted by your Instructor / Musher.

What to expect

Learn the Art of Dog Mushing—Alaska’s Official State Sport!

This tour introduces you to dog mushing beyond simply riding in a sled. If you want to experience the thrill of running your own dog team, this is your chance.

Meet the sled dogs and get familiar with your team. Your experienced guide will teach you the basics of dog mushing, including harnessing and lining up the dogs for takeoff.

Mush a tag sled with a well-trained team of Alaska huskies from the race kennel while your coach guides you from a second attached sled.

Each participant gets 30 minutes on the sled runners, learning to lean into turns, brake, and lead the team using voice commands. Spend another 30 minutes riding as a passenger while your partner practices.

Gain insight into the art of dog mushing and enjoy plenty of opportunities for photos during this memorable experience.
