What to expect

Learn Dog Mushing!!! Our Alaska State sport.

We designed this tour as an introduction to dog mushing for those who want to experience the activity beyond just riding in the sled. If you want to experience the rush of running your own dog team, this is your chance.

You will meet the sled dogs in our kennel and get plenty of time to get familiar with your team. Your experienced dog mushing guide will present to you the basics of dog mushing, teach how to put on a harness and line up the sled dogs in preparation for take off.

You will mush on a tag sled attached to a well-trained team of Alaska huskies from our race kennel. From a second attached sled, your coach will guide you through basic training of dog mushing.

Each participant has a full 30 minutes of practice on the sled runners, learning how to lean into the turns, brake, and lead their dog team solely by voice command. A second 30 minutes you are spending in the sled watching/studying your partner practicing.

You will get great insight into the art of dog mushing and have plenty of time to take pictures of this great experience.
