Easy Trekking Experience
Compared to many volcano hikes in Indonesia, Mount Batur is considered beginner-friendly. The trek usually takes around 1.5 to 2 hours to reach the top, making it suitable for most travelers with average fitness.
Active Volcano Adventure
Mount Batur is still an active volcano, which makes the experience even more exciting. Along the trek, visitors can see volcanic steam rising from the ground and learn about Bali’s volcanic landscape and history.

What to expect
Your journey begins in the early morning with hotel pickup, followed by a short drive to the starting point at the foot of Mount Batur. Accompanied by an experienced local trekking guide, you will hike through volcanic trails under the starry sky while enjoying the cool mountain atmosphere.
After around 1.5–2 hours of trekking, you will arrive at the summit just in time for sunrise. From the top, enjoy spectacular panoramic views of Lake Batur, surrounding mountains, and the stunning sunrise over Bali. On clear days, you can even see Mount Agung and Mount Rinjani in the distance.
At the summit, relax and enjoy a simple breakfast with hot drinks while taking in the incredible scenery. Your guide will also share interesting stories about the history and volcanic activity of Mount Batur.
The trek is suitable for beginners and moderate hikers, making it a perfect adventure for couples, families, solo travelers, and nature lovers visiting Bali.
