Drive from Punta Arenas to Puerto Natales
We will pick you up in Punta Arenas, we will drive north 170 miles. The first destination is the Milodon Cave where in 1895 remains of a prehistoric animal were found and today there is a replica of the mammal and detailed information on the glaciall process of how the cave was formed.
We will then drive to the entrance of the Park
Inside the Park you can meet the turquoise lakes such as Pehoé and Nordenskjold, waterfalls and ice-covered mountains. A 15-minute walk inside the park is necessary to get close to the Salto Grande. The first natural scenarios that can be seen as you approach the park are: Sarmiento Lake viewpoint, Torres del Paine, Cuernos del Paine and Cerro Almirante Nieto. As for the fauna, the most predominant animals that are appreciated are: guanaco, ñandú and condor, as well as others less frequent to observe such as foxes, hares, chincol and the lion of America: the Puma.
Lake Nordenskjold, a pristine gem nestled within the breathtaking landscapes of Torres del Paine National Park in Chilean Patagonia, offers a captivating blend of tranquility and natural beauty. Named after the Swedish geologist Otto Nordenskjold, this glacial lake boasts a striking deep blue hue that reflects the sky and surrounding mountains, creating a mesmerizing visual symphony. Fed by the Paine River, the lake's waters originate from the melting ice of the imposing Paine Massif, which adds a touch of purity to its allure.
Laguna Amarga, a serene and captivating natural feature, graces the landscape of Torres del Paine National Park in Chilean Patagonia. Its name, which translates to "Bitter Lagoon," hints at the unique character of this remarkable body of water. Set against the dramatic backdrop of the Paine Massif, Laguna Amarga showcases a picturesque contrast between its tranquil surface and the rugged, imposing peaks that surround it. The lake's waters, often reflecting the intense blue of the Patagonian sky, offer a reflective sanctuary amid the wilderness. While its name may evoke a sense of bitterness, Laguna Amarga's beauty is anything but. The subtle play of light on the lake's surface, especially during sunrise and sunset, transforms it into a canvas of ever-changing colors, inviting visitors to pause and absorb the magic of the moment.
During our journey, we'll make a delightful stop at a charming rustic general store in Cerro Castillo. Here, you can savor a comforting cup of coffee, take advantage of clean and well-maintained restrooms, and treat yourself to a delicious snack.
