What to expect

Tour of the foothills of the Sierra Nevada: La Peña, La Junta, Carrizal, San Juan del Cesar and Jardines del Eccehomo.

The tour begins contemplating nature with landscapes of prickly pears and cardones, inspiring places and rivers, as well as the fique plant where the backpacks that were references in his novel were made.

La Peña, the hamlet of his descendants, fertile land for the patilla harvest. You can see the vernacular architecture and the surrounding landscape.

La Junta, visit to the brown window, the chief's park, the record collection, tour of the town and its church, others.

Carrizal, visit to the museum that tells his family history, his main anecdotes, his love life, and his musical legacy as a composer and singer. Without forgetting his furtive loves of poetic inspiration from his songs.

San Juan del Cesar, bathed by the Cesar River, visit the church, main park, emblematic square, monument of the San Juan moon, observation of the republican architecture, cradle of writers and poets.

Ending the tour in the City of Valledupar, we visit the Jardines del Eccehomo, where the singer-songwriter's mausoleum rests.
