Spend an afternoon at Dolmabahçe Palace, a recent residence for Ottoman Sultans built by the two Ottoman architects Karabet and Nikogos Balyan on a 110-thousand-square-meter property. This area served as the main administrative center of the Ottoman Empire and is famous for its great collection of European antiquities, furniture and the largest chandelier in the world, weighing 4.5 tons. The palace has 285 rooms and 46 halls. Crossing the Bosphorus Bridge will give you the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to step from one continent to another in just 2 minutes. Çamlıca Hill, famous for its beautiful sunsets and bird’s eye panoramic views of İstanbul from the Sea of Marmara to the Black Sea, gives a chance to see the Bosphorus and Golden Horn from one of the highest and most appealing places of the city.

    Dolmabahce Palace was built between the years 1843 and 1856 with the order of Sultan Abdulmecid who was the 31st Ottoman Sultan. Dolmabahce Palace witnessed the last era of Ottoman Empire and first era of the Republic. Great leader Ataturk used the palace for his studies and as a Presidential House between the years 1927 and 1938.
