The Taj Mahal is an ivory-white marble mausoleum which contains the bodies of the Emperor Shah Jahan and his wife Mumtaz. Located on the South bank of the Yamuna river, it was commissioned in 1631 and completely over a period of 2 decades by thousands of skilled artisans. The name Taj Mahal translates to “Crown of the Palace” and it is one of the man-made wonders of the world.
