This ghost hunt starts under the UT Tower and spends the next 90 minutes on the University of Texas campus, between the Harry Ransom Center, the Blanton Museum and the quiet halls along Speedway. It's self-guided and runs on the Questo app, so all you need is your phone.
The ghosts are ten made-up characters with very real grievances. One teacher keeps writing a child into her registers who was never in her class. An actor hid the code that frees him in his last monologue, and a night manager went back into a burning hotel for a child who was never there. Every puzzle you solve catches a ghost and adds a clue, and by the end you'll know which of the ten has been lying.
It suits students, visiting families and anyone who likes a puzzle more than a lecture. The walk is about 1.4 miles. Go after dark for the full effect, with hints and 24/7 support if you need them.
The game starts at the foot of the UT Tower. After booking, we'll message you a code and activation link. Activate with your own email, then log in to the Questo app with that email. No message? Open the Questo app, tap "Bought a quest somewhere else?" and enter your booking reference number.
The hunt starts at the foot of the UT Tower, where you're enrolled as a ghost hunter and handed a ring of glowing symbols with one number missing. Along 21st Street, between Batts Hall and the Harry Ransom Center, your first two ghosts show up. You'll pick a hidden word out of a dead bride's note, then read a 1952 doctor's blood chart to find the type he should have given his patient.
Over on Speedway and down to the Blanton Museum of Art, you'll pull a four-digit code from an actor's script and sort a senator's evidence by date. Both died because someone else was careless or cruel: one by a loose spotlight, the other by a fake phone call on a rainy night.
The second half crosses the heart of campus, past the dorms on 21st Street, the Perry-Castañeda Library and the science buildings on 24th. Six more ghosts are waiting, from a teacher with a phantom pupil to a priest whose organ plays by itself. Then, back near the Tower, you'll go over every clue and name the liar.
