Zarzalones inferior is a beautiful canyon located in the heart of the Sierra de las Nieves Natural Park.
If you are looking for an experience that, in terms of level, is halfway between the Guadalmina canyon (3h) and the Buitreras canyon (6h), this is the best option if you are near Marbella or Malaga, with about 4h of activity and suitable for children from 9 years old (55 min driving from Málaga or Marbella).

What to expect
Zarzalones is a beautiful canyon located in the heart of the Sierra de las Nieves Natural Park, only 50 minutes from Mijas and 1 hour from Malaga city centre.
It is one of the great options to do one of the best canyoning in the province of Malaga, along with Guadalmina, Buitreras or Ronda. It is situated very close to the white village of Yunquera and has year round flow.
With about 4 hours of activity it is suitable for children from 9 years old and for adults with medium physical level. This experience begins at the source of the Rio Grande, a beautiful spring that springs from a large cave also called Zarzalones where green, pure and crystalline waters flow. From this point we will follow the course of the river, finding two jumps of up to 4 metres in crystal clear pools and three rappels of 8, 10 and 21 metres.
We will finish this adventure at the same point where we started the approach path to the beginning of the canyon.
