It’s best to arrive on the actual start date. There are no activities on the first day, so you can arrive at any time. If you do arrive early we’ll still pick you up from the airport and will book you into our Hanoi Hostel – ‘Cocoon Inn’ from the day you arrive. Extra nights will be approx. £8 / $15 per night for a multi-share room and can be pre-paid with your agent or paid on arrival.
Epic Asia finishes in Siem Reap. If you’re staying on longer in SE Asia, your Group Leader will help organise your onward travel including extra nights in Siem Reap and airport transfers. It will take around 30 minutes to get to Siem Reap airport and will cost around $6 USD.
When you land in Hanoi after your long flight we’ll be at the airport to meet you and take you to the accommodation. You’ll have plenty of time to recover from your flight, chill out and meet everyone in your group.

Experience the stunning natural wonder of Ha Long Bay, cruise on beautiful emerald green waters through towering limestone mountains topped with rainforest. Go kayaking through caves and enjoy some drinks aboard our overnight boat!
Today we head south to the beautiful countryside of Ninh Binh, a landscape of endless rice paddies and epic limestone mountains. Check in to our unique and amazing local homestay and watch the sunset whilst relaxing in our private riverside bungalows for the evening.
Today we explore magical Ninh Binh. We’ll take a bike ride through the rice paddies and then a local row boat along a network of rivers and caves. We’ll then tackle the iconic Dragon Mountain Viewpoint for sunset before boarding the overnight train south to Hoi An.
In the morning we’ll arrive in Hoi An, one of the most beautiful and fascinating towns in Vietnam. You’ll have some time in the afternoon to chill out, go shopping or even get some clothes made! This evening we'll experience the iconic lantern boats.
Be guided through coconut groves by local fishermen while you try your hand at some crab fishing! We’ll then learn the secrets of preparing delicious Vietnamese food with a traditional cooking class.
This morning we'll learn how to make lanterns. We'll then enjoy a chilled day at a beach club.
Today we catch a short flight to Ho Chi Minh City and arrive early afternoon. You’ll have the rest of the day to relax and explore the city.
We’ll explore the incredibly lush green beauty of the Mekong Delta, learn first-hand how the locals live, visit local villages and experience daily life on the Mekong. We then stay overnight in the Delta. Small Change: Join a meaningful language exchange with local teacher Daisy and her students, discover the art of traditional Mekong basket weaving with a local artisan, join a heartfelt tea party with Mr. Hai and his family.
Today we discover the Cu Chi Tunnels, a fascinating network of underground tunnels used as supply routes, hideouts and living quarters during the Vietnam War. We’ll arrive back to Ho Chi Minh City in the afternoon before heading out for our farewell dinner and party!
Today we jump on our bus to Cambodia! After our border crossing we’ll arrive in Cambodia’s capital city, Phnom Penh in the afternoon. After a quick freshen up, we will head out for dinner and drinks together.
After a tuk tuk tour through the crazy streets of Phnom Penh, we’ll make two important stops at the S21 Prison and the original Killing Fields to learn about the dark history of this fascinating country. A difficult day, but a must to properly understand the journey of the Cambodian people in recent decades. That evening we’ll head for dinner and drinks, followed by some of Phnom Penh’s best nightlife. Small Change: Explore Cambodia’s history on a profound level with a visit to S21 Prison and the Killing Fields.
Today we get off the beaten path and head to the peaceful countryside province of Kampot. The next two nights are spent by the beautiful riverside with plenty of time for swimming and relaxing. That afternoon we’ll kayak down the river and soak up the laid back daily life of the locals. Small Change: As we kayak, each group collects waste to keep rivers and mangroves clean.
Kampot is known to have some of the best pepper in the world! So this morning we’ll explore the local markets to source ingredients for our traditional Khmer cooking class. Later that day we’ll learn first hand how to make some of Cambodia’s most authentic and delicious meals! We’ll then get to explore the pepper plantation before heading out on a stunning sunset river cruise.
It’s now time to experience the tropical side vibes of Cambodia! We’ll take a train and a fast ferry to the stunning tropical island of Koh Rong and check into our island paradise accommodation that is owned by the Chief of the village. The afternoon can be spent lazing on the beach or exploring the island, before we head out for dinner and drinks! Small Change: During our stay in Koh Rong, our groups will help protect the environment with regular beach clean ups.
It’s all aboard a private long tail boat this morning as we head out to uncover some of the island’s best snorkel spots. Expect to find yourself chilling out on secluded beaches, or exploring the colourful underwater world as you swim with tropical fish.
This morning we'll enjoy our final day on the island relaxing on the beach. We'll then catc h the ferry back to the mainland for dinner before boarding an overnight bus bound for Siem Reap. With fully reclining beds and air con, this is bus reavelling in style.
Arrive in Siem Reap early in the morning. From there we’ll venture out to the rural areas and discover some traditional floating villages surrounded by lush rice fields, lotus flowers and flooded forests. Small Change: During our floating village tour, we'll visit homes, schools, and meet community members, gaining a deeper understanding of their resilience and daily challenges.
We’ll wake for sunrise and travel by tuk tuk to the absolutely mind-blowing and world famous Angkor Wat; the largest temple in the world! A local guide will join us to explain the fascinating history and surrounding temples, including Ta Prohm where Tomb Raider was filmed. This afternoon we'll meet the APOPO hero rats, who have been sniffing out landmines and saving lives since 1997. Tonight we’ll head out for our final dinner and final night out! Small Change: By sponsoring APOPO Hero Rats, we are helping make Cambodian communities safer. These trained rats detect landmines, allowing teams to clear dangerous areas and protect lives. During our free time, groups can choose to visit Apopo to see the 'Hero Rats' in action.
