What to expect
Discover Spanish craftsmanship in a hands-on ceramics painting workshop in Valencia, located in the artistic neighborhood of Benimaclet. In a peaceful indoor garden inspired by a traditional huerto valenciano, a local artist introduces you to the history of Spanish and Valencian ceramics, exploring centuries of symbolism, patterns, colors, and meaning.
Learn how Moorish, Medieval, Renaissance, Baroque, and Modernist influences shaped the iconic motifs still seen today—from geometric arabesques and Mediterranean florals to protective symbols and agricultural designs found throughout Valencia.
Then, choose a ceramic piece to personalize: a set of 2 tile magnets, 2 ceramic coasters, a coffee mug, a tea cup or mini bowl, or a Spanish tapas plate. With soft Spanish guitar music in the background, hand-paint your piece using traditional colors and designs or create your own modern interpretation.
