The pick up is included from Marrakech and area
Morning (8:00 AM): An early start from Marrakech is crucial. You'll be picked up for the 1.5-hour drive to Imlil (1,740m). Late Morning (9:30 AM): In Imlil, you'll meet your guide and mule team. After a quick mint tea and gear check, you'll begin the trek. The mules will carry the main luggage, so you'll only need a small daypack.
Trekking (approx. 4-5 hours): The trail follows the Mizane Valley, first to the village of Aroumd, then to the shrine of Sidi Chamharouch (2,350m). This is a well-known pilgrimage spot and a great place for a lunch break.
Afternoon: After lunch, the path continues to climb steadily. The terrain becomes more barren and rocky as you gain altitude. Late Afternoon/Evening: You will arrive at the Toubkal Refuge (either Les Mouflons or the Neltner Hut, at 3,207m). This is where you will have dinner and spend the night, sharing a dormitory-style room with other trekkers. An early night is recommended to prepare for the summit attempt.
Very Early Morning (4:00-5:00 AM): The day starts before sunrise. After a quick, early breakfast, you'll begin the final ascent with headlamps. This is the most challenging part of the trek. Ascent (approx. 3 hours): The path is a steep, winding scree slope. The altitude makes it challenging, so the pace will be slow and steady. The reward is watching the sunrise over the Atlas Mountains as you climb. Morning (8:00-9:00 AM): You'll reach the summit of Mount Toubkal (4,167m)! From here, the panoramic views are breathtaking. On a clear day, you can see the Marrakech plains to the north and the Sahara desert to the south. After taking photos and celebrating, you'll begin the descent.
Descent (approx. 2-3 hours): The descent back to the refuge. You'll have a rest and lunch back at the refuge. Afternoon: You will trek all the way back down to Imlil, which takes another 3-4 hours. Evening (around 4:00-5:00 PM): Your driver will be waiting in Imlil to take you back to Marrakech, where you'll be dropped off at your accommodation.
