Istiqlal Mosque is the largest mosque in Southeast Asia and the sixth largest in the world by worshipper capacity. It's name, “Istiqlal,” means “Independence” in Arabic. Located in the heart of Jakarta, directly opposite the National Cathedral, the mosque stands as a symbol of peace and religious tolerance. Located on Jalan Lapangan Banteng Utara, the Cathedral Church was built in 1891 in a neo-Gothic architectural style. The church features tall towers and high windows adorned with stained glass. Meet traditional puppet masters and learn about Indonesian puppetry. Discover how puppets are made, watch them in action, and explore a collection of wayang from various regions of Indonesia. Please note: If you are lucky, you may get to see a live performance by the puppet master.
