Start: 8:30–9:00 AM – The Guide will meet you at the Bambu Restaurant Eco Lodge or the place you are staying. Short Briefing on the route, wildlife safety, eco-guidelines, and packing essentials. Begin your hike into the jungle with 1–2 certified local guides (group sizes typically 4–6 people). Morning Trek (3–4 hours): Enter the dense jungle – trails start relatively easy, then become steeper. Spot wildlife like: Semi-wild orangutans, Thomas leaf monkeys, Long-tailed macaques, Monitor lizards, tropical birds, giant ants Learn about local flora, including medicinal plants and jungle survival tips. Jungle Lunch (around 1 PM): Fresh fruits and local food (nasi goreng or rice with tempeh, tofu, or eggs). Afternoon Trek (2–3 hours): Continue deeper into the forest. The Terrain becomes more challenging. Arrived at the Jungle Camp (~4–5 PM) - CAMP 1 Dinner & Jungle Night: Enjoy Indonesian dinner ( rice with vegetable curry, tempeh, sambal). Sleep on the tent In the middle of the jungle
Morning: Breakfast (jungle pancakes, fruit, tea/coffee). Pack up and continue trekking further, heading deeper into the forest interior. Trekking (4–5 hours): Day 2 takes you through denser, more remote jungle, where chances to see wild orangutans and gibbons increase. Cross rivers, climb ridges, pass through old rubber plantations and dense undergrowth. Jungle Lunch: Fresh tropical fruit, rice with vegetables or egg. Having Breaks near a river or shaded area. Arrive at Second Camp (~3–4 PM): This second camp is typically deeper and more serene. Some camps have nearby rocky river bank with caves, waterfalls, or swimming holes. Night at Second Camp: Relax and help prepare dinner with the guides. Enjoy the night at the campsite surrounded by the sounds of the river and the jungle Stargazing if skies are clear. Listen to the sounds of the jungle at night – owls, cicadas, frogs, possibly wild boars
Wake up Early Morning (Optional): Listen to the sounds of monkey shouting each other early morning. Light trek to a nearby viewpoint or river for wildlife spotting (gibbons are active early). Breakfast: Pancakes, bananas, crackers and coffee/tea. Pack up all your stuff and clean up the area. Don't leave any garbage behind (leave no trace!) Trek to River (1–2 hours): Walk downhill toward the Bohorok River. Guides often take a slower route back, allowing for relaxed wildlife viewing. River Tube Rafting Return to the village : Ride back to Bukit Lawang in tied rubber inner tubes, steered by a guide. A fun and cooling end to your adventure! Float past lush forest with green wall of the rain forest along the river. Seeing locals washing clothes, and kids waving from the riverbank near the village Arrived at the village, drop off to your accommodation. ** End of the trip**
