Morning Session: Departing from the Sarawak Boat Club, cruise towards the Santubong River mouth, where lucky guests may spot Irrawaddy dolphins. Navigate peaceful mangrove channels while observing birds, aquatic life and the natural beauty of this coastal habitat.
Evening Session: Venture along the Salak estuary in search of proboscis monkeys resting among riverside trees. As dusk settles, witness fireflies illuminating the mangroves, creating a magical natural spectacle. With a torch, guests may also spot crocodiles along the riverbanks before returning beneath the starry night sky.
Both sessions offer a memorable opportunity to appreciate Sarawak’s remarkable biodiversity, with wildlife sightings dependent on natural conditions.

Departing from the Sarawak Boat Club, the cruise glides toward the open waters near Santubong, where the river widens and wildlife sightings are always a possibility. With a bit of luck, Irrawaddy dolphins may surface nearby. The route winds through quiet mangrove channels, creating opportunities to spot birds and other river-dwelling creatures along the banks. As evening approaches near the Salak estuary, attention turns to one of Borneo’s most iconic primates — the proboscis monkey. These elusive animals are sometimes seen perched high in the riverside trees as they gather in small family groups before nightfall. When night settles in, the river reveals a different kind of magic. Fireflies illuminate the mangroves with soft, rhythmic flashes, while the boat ventures upstream to observe this natural light show. A careful watch along the water’s edge may also reveal crocodiles, their presence betrayed by glowing eyes reflecting torchlight.The cruise returns under the cover of darknes.
