Arrive at Thailand’s highest point, 2,565 meters above sea level. Enjoy cool mountain air and take an easy 15–20 minute walk along the summit nature trail, passing mossy trees and drifting mist in a cloud forest setting.
Leave the summit and visit the King’s Pagoda, built in 1987 for King Bhumibol. Walk through manicured alpine gardens and stop at open viewpoints with time for photos overlooking the highlands below the clouds.
Across the valley, explore the Queen’s Pagoda, completed in 1992 for Queen Sirikit. Stroll through colorful flower terraces and enjoy panoramic views that highlight Doi Inthanon’s cool climate and layered green landscape.
As the road descends, visit a lively Hmong market filled with handmade crafts, seasonal mountain fruits, and fragrant herbs. Take time to browse, snack, and observe everyday highland trading in a relaxed local setting.
Continue into the valley to Ban Mae Klang Luang, a Karen village surrounded by rice terraces. Walk among the fields, meet local farmers, and visit a small coffee roasting house to smell and taste fresh mountain-grown beans.
Next comes Wachirathan Waterfall, one of the park’s most dramatic sights. Hear the roar before you see it, feel the cool mist, and take striking photos as powerful water plunges down jungle cliffs.
End the day at Mae Klang Waterfall, where wide rock tiers and flowing streams create a calmer setting. Take unhurried photos, enjoy the soothing sound of water, and relax in the forest atmosphere before the comfortable return to Chiang Mai.
