Offered in: English

You'll hear about the stories, characters and architecture that have helped define the spirit of Madrid. This covers aspects of Madrid’s religious and rebellious contexts and includes an array of characters from bandits to traders.

Madrid has always been a city of contrasts and has attracted a multitude of immigrants from a variety of backgrounds throughout its complex history. Newcomers to Madrid usually find a home just outside the ancient city walls in Lavapiés, which makes this district one of the most vibrant and multicultural neighborhoods in Madrid.

To get to Lavapiés we'll make our way through part of a neighbourhood called La Latina. It’s one of the most famous neighbourhoods in Madrid, known especially for its bars and narrow streets, as well as being home to the legendary Rastro market.

The tour is ready whenever you are and the audio plays automatically at exactly the right time and place using your smartphone's GPS and the VoiceMap mobile app, which also works offline.
