The walk is conducted through the the lanes of Old Delhi. Settled by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan, the city was called "Shahjehanabad" for him. The walk covers monuments and bazaars and included food tastings on the way. From the starting point, the visitors travel by rickshaws to the Jama Masjid.Built and completed in 1656 AD, The Jama Masjid is an "operational" place of worship. From the mosque, we walk through to the Silver Market , while passing by several options of food as well as antique shops and old buildings. This part of the walk has shopping options for silver jewellery as well as esssential oils and incense at a shop established 200 years ago.
From the Silver market, we walk down a "wedding market" , with a stop en-route to see a Jain temple and the "naughara" havelis. We exit on to Chandni Chowk (the main avenue) via Parathe Wali Gali. This part of the tour has shopping options for sequins, beads and costume jewellery.
We proceed to the whole sale spice market on rickshaws. Buildings of interest are pointed out on the way.
