The tour always begins at the Colosseum, where you will meet your guide. With your pre-booked tickets, you will avoid the entrance queue and go straight inside. Your guide offer the history of the ancient Colosseum, – the largest amphitheatre in the Roman Empire. You’ll hear fascinating stories about the violent battles which were staged there, and you’ll learn why and how it was built.

A short walk from the Colosseum will bring you to the Arch of Constantine and the Forum. The Form functioned as the main hub of the ancient city, and was the focal point of life in ancient Rome. The ruins here indicate the importance of the Forum, as a centre of religion, politics and commerce. You’ll see the Temple of Julius Caesar, built on the site of his cremation, the Arch of Titus, House of the Vestal Virgins, the Senate House, the Basilica of Maxentius and much more.

One of the most recognisable buildings in the city, Il Vittoriano, is your next stop. It was built in 1885 in honour of King Victor Emmanuel II. The impressive neoclassical building towers over the surrounding area, and it’s easy to see why it was nicknamed the “Wedding Cake” by the locals.
