This path DA connects two of the highest peaks DA Madeira Island. It is DE a stunning route, which includes tunnels and some sections with steep DAs and descents, offering fabulous views over the central massive of the island.
It is also possible to observe several birds, some of them exclusive DA Macaronesia, such as the canary DA-terra (Serinus canaria), the petinha-dos-campos (Anthus berthelottii madeirensis) and the andorinhão DA-serra (Apus unicolor).
Near the Pico Ruivo shelter is the track PR 1.2, which leads to the Achada do Teixeira. Already in Acha DA do Teixeira you can see the basaltic rock formation known as “Man in Foot”, located in the descent after passing through the shelter of the Achada do Teixeira.

The Pico do Arieiro Pike, 1818 meter high, is the third highest summit in the Island of Madeira. It is highly advised to climb all the way up to the top of this mountain to enjoy the great beauty of the volcanic landscape and its wonderful views.
This is as good as it gets! This walk will give you more complete picture of the real beauty of this island. Rock formations seem to want to reach heaven like giant sculptures. Throughout the entire tour the views are simply breathtaking.
