The architecture and design of the theatre were copied numerous times during the Roman Empire and influenced many important buildings, including the symbol of Rome, Colosseum, which was built many years later in 72 BC.

    The Forum Boarium was one of the oldest and most important marketplaces of ancient Rome. According to legend, Hercules, who reached this area with Geryon’s oxen, was robbed of these by the giant Cacus, who lived in a cave at the foot of the Aventine Hill. Here we will see some significant ancient monuments, including the Temple of Fortuna Virilis and the Temple of Hercules Victor.
