This tour is perfect for your first day in Rome. You will really get a feel for the city, see all of the “must see” sights and learn about the local customs as you wend your way through the city centre.
It is a 3-hour walking tour in the company of your own personal guide. You will see the Pantheon, the Trevi Fountain, the Spanish Steps, Piazza Navona, the Church of St. Ignatius and much more. You can take a drink of fresh mountain water from one the elegant fountains that are scattered throughout the city centre, the Fontanelles. There will be time to stop to take photos or perhaps treat yourself to a delicious pastry of gelato. On this tour you will visit the Spanish Steps, the famous Trevi Fountain and the Pantheon. You will spend time in Piazza Navona where there is the old church of St. Agnes and Gian Lorenzo Bernini’s stunning Fountain of the Four Rivers, designed by him in 1651 for Pope Innocent X. The piazza was built over the ruins of the Emperor Domitian’s ancient stadium that once held up to 30,000 spectators. The tour ends in the lovely Campo de’Fiori.
