Dule temple is one of great historical and architectural importance and has been recognized as a World Heritage Site. It is over 1000 thousand years old and is the oldest surviving timber structure in Asia. Admire the 23-meter-high Guanyin Pavilion which is the highest of the existing double-story buildings in China. The Guanyin sculpture is 16 meters in height, is one of the country’s biggest colorful clay sculptures. All the walls of the temple are intricately detailed with murals depicting important Buddhist icons, entering this temple really is an overwhelming sensation with a kaleidoscope of color and art as well as a window of learning about Buddhism.
