  Ancient City of Pingyao

  Your driver will pick you up at your prearranged time in your Xi‘an Hotel's lobby and you will be transferred to Xi‘an train station. Enjoy a 3 hour train trip to Pingyao Ancient Town. Upon arrival, your local guide will hold your name sign waiting for you at the exit of the arrival hall. You will be transferred to Pingyao old town. Then accompanied by your tour guide, you will start a walking tour of the Pinayao Old City. Founded during the Western Zhou Dynasty (1046 – 771 BC) and rebuilt in 1370, the Pingyao old city is nowadays one of China's four best preserved old cities. Step into the city, the old past comes alive. The Ming Qing Street is flanked with shops of local handicraft. Rishengchang shows us the glory of the first Chinese exchange shops.

  Pingyao Ancient Government Office

  The ancient government office tells everything about the bureaucracy of the feudal society. If time allows, you shouldn’t miss the Temple of City God, Confucius Temple and museums in different themes. Immerse yourself in the atmosphere of old times lifestyle and appreciate the charms of old China. Feel free to discuss with your tour guide on where you wan to go in the old city.

  Shuanglin Temple

  Enjoy lunch in the local restaurant, then spend time to explore the UNESCO site of Shuanglin Temple. Shuanglin Temple is reputed to be the 'ancient painted sculptures museum'. It houses more than 2,000 colorful sculptures reflecting the exquisite skills of the artisans of the Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties. Stroll around the halls and courtyards with your tour guide, admire the 1,400 years paintings and sculptures. Get to know the history, stories behind and learn the history about the Buddhism in China. Feel free to ask your tour guide if you have any questions. Your tour also including a delicious lunch or dinner, just tell your guide when you want to fill your stomach. Afterwards, you will be transferred to Pingyao railway station and heading back to Xi'an, our driver in Xi'an will pick you up and take you to your hotel in Xi'an.
