  Hall of Prayer for Good Harvest

  Start by meeting your guide at the agreed spot (East Gate for Package 1; your hotel lobby for Package 2&3). Enter through the East Gate—if you visit in the morning, you’ll be greeted by the lively daily life of Beijing’s retirees: some singing folk songs, others practicing tai chi. Feel free to join in briefly to soak up the local vibe before starting the tour. First stop: the iconic Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests—the triple-eaved building that stands as the heart of the Temple of Heaven. The 38-meter-tall wooden frame, built entirely without a single nail, held together by interlocking brackets that showcase ancient Chinese craftsmanship at its finest. Your guide will draw your attention to the 28 giant wooden pillars, explaining how each set serves a symbolic purpose. At the center of the top tier, your guide will point out the Heaven’s Heart Stone—a single, smooth round stone.
