The hike offers spectacular panoramic views above the fjords, with the route carefully selected by the guide. Get away from the crowds and immerse yourself in Norway’s untouched nature. Along the way, you’ll trek through rugged terrain, cross open landscapes, and reach stunning viewpoints where you can take in the vast beauty of Norway.

With a total duration of 6 hours, including transport, the hike itself lasts between 3-5hrs, covering a distance of 5-9 kilometers with an elevation gain of 300 to 400m. The terrain is uneven, rocky, and can be wet in some areas, making sturdy shoes mandatory.

We meet in front of the tourist information/VisitBergen. Strandkaien 3, 5013 Bergen. Your guide will stand next to the stairs (outdoors) with Norway Mountain Guides sign.

What to expect

Your guide will lead you through breathtaking open landscapes, untouched wilderness, and panoramic fjord views, offering an authentic Norwegian hiking experience. The trail consists of uneven and rugged terrain, requiring some prior mountain hiking experience. Over the course of 3 to 5 hours, you will ascend 300 to 400m to reach a stunning summit overlooking the fjord.

The journey begins in Bergen, where you will meet your guide in the city center before departing by car for a 30 to 45 minute drive to the trailhead. The specific hiking destination: Mt. Hananipa, Mt. Bruviknipa, or Mt. Arnanipa. The destination will be carefully chosen by the guide based on weather conditions, group dynamics, and guest preferences.

Please bring a small backpack with a packed lunch, plenty of water, warm and waterproof clothing, sunglasses, and appropriate footwear. While running shoes or tough sneakers may be suitable, hiking boots are highly recommended for optimal comfort and safety. Your guide will provide a traditional Norwegian snack and ensure a safe and enjoyable journey, sharing insights into the local landscape, history, and culture along the way.
