Transportation will be arranged for you from the airport.
We need your arrival information because you will be picked up at the Ngurah Rai International Airport. Please ensure your flight arrives by no later than 10:00am. If this is not possible, then we recommend you sleep near to the airport your day of arrival and simply start this tour the following morning. We could pick you up from whichever hotel you book at, as long as it is near to the airport. Why all this? Although the town of Ubud-where we are based for all but one night while on this 7-day tour-is a 1.5-hour drive away from the airport, we are not heading there directly. Instead, we first visit Padang Padang Beach, then Suluban Beach, then Uluwatu Temple, then Pandawa Beach, then Water Blow Cliff and finally a fishing village called Jimbaran. All of these destinations are relatively near to the international airport.
Padang Padang Beach is a great first impression of the island. Uluwatu Temple is home to a tribal dance called Kecak. Hopefully there will be an event taking place during our visit. Note that the temple is inhabited by monkeys, who are notorious for snatching visitors’ belongings. They can usually be persuaded into trading the items for fruit. Water Blow is where large waves of sea water from the Indian Ocean continually crash against jagged limestone edges of a cliff. The water blow is the outcome of the narrowing crag below the cliff face that channels a surge of water up to 30 meters high from its base following strong currents. This phenomenon results in giant, irregular splashes of wave that can reach several meters high. The area provides a 240-degree lookout of dramatic seascape that is bordered by guardrails.
Jimbaran is perfect for a sunset dinner on the beach, which is included on today's tour. Visiting Jimbaran before sunset is ‘a must’, seeing dozens of restaurants, tables and food lined up along the beach. We should be arriving in Ubud around 9:00pm.
The cooking class is shared with other travelers. The rest of the tour is exclusive to you and whomever else you may book on behalf of.
We make a daytrip from Ubud. The destinations for today are the temples of Pura Puseh and Pura Dasar in the village of Batuan, Tegenungan Waterfall, Goa Gajah (a.k.a. Elephant Cave), a temple complex called Gunung Kawi, Tirta Empul Temple and the Tegallalang Rice Terraces. At these terraces, we take a photo at the famous bird nest and at the tree swing. In the late afternoon, we take a cooking class at a traditional home/restaurant. Following the class is dinner, which is included on today’s tour.
Before making another daytrip from Ubud, we explore the town itself. One of Bali’s major arts and culture centers, Ubud has developed a large tourism industry. The main attractions are the central market and the monkey forest. Today’s other destinations are Pura Taman Ayun Temple and Tanah Lot Temple, the latter of which serves as Bali’s most famous place from where to watch the sunset.
Although we are relocating from Ubud to the beach village of Lovina, there are many worthwhile stops en route: the rice fields in Jatiluwih, Ulun Danu Beratan Temple, Lake Bratan, Munduk Waterfall and the hot springs in Banjar. Shortly after arriving in Lovina, we watch the sunset.
Before leaving Lovina, we take a traditional boat so we can hopefully see dolphins. En route back to Ubud, we visit Gitgit Waterfall, Sekumpul Waterfall, Jagaraga Temple and Pura Meduwe Karang Temple.
We make a daytrip from Ubud. Today starts very early, as we do a 2-hour hike up Mount Batur. Watching the sunrise from atop is an unforgettable experience. Today’s other destinations are Pura Ulun Danu Batur Temple, the Mother Temple of Besakih and the landscape surrounding both Iseh and Sidemen.
Transportation will be arranged for you to reach the airport. Would you like to add a couple of free days to enjoy the Gili Islands? Gili Air is social by day and quiet by night. Gili Meno is quiet and is best suited for honeymooners. Although it is well known as a hotspot for hippies, Gili Trawangan is a paradise for rich vacationers and partygoers alike, with its chic restaurants, bars and lounges located right along the white-sand beachfront. Also, would you like to add our 2-day tour of the island of Nusa Penida? It is only a 45-minute boat ride away from Bali. Nusa Penida is arguably the country’s most beautiful island. You would arrive in Bali and be taken as quickly as possible to Nusa Penida. You would spend 2 days there and then be taken back to Bali, where a 7-day tour awaits you. So, in total, this would be a 10-day tour: 3 nights in Nusa Penida and 6 nights in Bali.
If you cancel at least 6 full day(s) before the scheduled departure time, you will receive a full refund.
If you cancel between 2 and 6 day(s) before the scheduled departure time, you will receive a 50% refund.
If you cancel within 2 day(s) of the scheduled departure, you will receive a 0% refund.
