Normally we end our 3-hour foodie experience between Odeon and St Michel station. If you have any other activities planned after our experience, please let me know and we can always adapt the itinerary (both the start and end points) accordingly.
At our meeting point, you will be warmly welcomed and introduced to the itinerary and pace of our visit. Before setting off, we’ll take a brief moment for any practical arrangements, a short pause to ensure everyone’s comfort.
We begin our foodie adventure near the beautiful Square Boucicaut, just across Hotel Lutetia. Allow me to share with you stories about the mystical Rue du Cherche-Midi, that I used to call home. We will learn about the neighbourhood we are exploring, what the area was like in the past, get our bearings right and visit our first tasting stops.
Our experience continues with a discussion on the magic of an emblematic creation: bread. What makes French bread so special? What happens during the fermentation process? We will visit a century-old family boulangerie business to uncover some of our answers to these questions.
Next on our menu is a delightful discovery of 2-3 extravagant pastries, imagined by some of the winners of the Pastry World Cup, or similar prestigious competitions. Guests are invited to select their own individual cakes, rather than the small tasting portions typically offered on standard food tours.
Strolling along a charming, winding street that dates back to the 13th century, we delve into the fascinating world of chocolate, tracing its journey from bean to bar, exploring the art of tempering and discovering the ideal working temperatures that give chocolate its shine. Along the way, we encounter some of the most inventive creations on the market today, and, of course, indulge in a few irresistible chocolate treats from award-winning French chocolatiers.
Our experience will conclude at a location most convenient for you to continue your day. We may explore picturesque little alleyways, venture onto Boulevard Saint Germain, follow the traces of the first Roman settlers, visit an old friend and his charming temple of literature or saying hi to the oldest tree in Paris. You will also receive our personalised recommendations on arts, culture and food and drinks.
