In this 6-hour small group, Lisbon´s outskirts food tour, experience a bit of the best Portuguese traditions, olive oil, wine and fish. Learn it´s history and why they became icons of our gastronomy. You will understand how this simple traditional Atlantic cuisine was influenced and influenced cultures all over the world.
For this you will travel south of Lisbon, to the Palmela village.
You will meet and talk to local people, that love to share what they have.

    Lisbon

    This tour is intended for you to have a taste of the typical Atlantic Portuguese lifestyle. And no, not Mediterranean as it is always said. Discover the diverse olive oils there are, understanding how and why we use them. The other important secular tradition we have is wine. Get to know the Setúbal wine region in a family-owned winery. To end the experience, you will have to taste the different fishes we traditionally eat. For the above, we will travel south of Lisbon to the Setúbal Wine Region.

    Palmela

    To start, we will visit a regional family-owned olive oil store, where we will discover and understand the differences, per region and olive types. You will be able to talk with the owner while they hand out the samples for you to taste.

    Castelo de Palmela

    The next stop will be visiting a local small family-owned winery. There you will be hosted by the owners, showing and exploring their wines. Learn about the regional wines and their family history.

    Last stop will be lunch. For that we will be going to a small restaurant, also family-owned. There is no menu, as it is always the catch of the day. The available fish types vary as it is dependent on the year´s season, as fishes are migratory.
