The instructor is a specialist who formally studied Japanese lacquer art at Tokyo University of Art.
In this experience, you’ll have the opportunity to practice Kintsugi (gold repair) on a handmade ochoko (sake cup) crafted at Uzumako Pottery Studio. You can choose your favorite ochoko from a selection of beautiful colors. Using a brush, you’ll apply Japanese lacquer along the cracks, then sprinkle metal powder on top to complete the repair.
Your finished piece will be placed in a wooden box for you to take home the same day. Please allow it to dry for about one week before using it.
All material fees are included—just come empty-handed and leave with a beautifully repaired treasure!
Proceed down the narrow path to the right of the Uzumako Pottery Studio Annex building. You will see a brown door that leads to the Kintsugi classroom. Go through that door and take the stairs to the second floor. The Kintsugi classroom is located at the back of the second floor.
