Authentic Urushi Kintsugi One Time Experience

2 hours (approximately)
Offered in: Japanese

The instructor is a specialist who formally studied Japanese lacquer art at Tokyo University of Art.

In this experience, you’ll have the opportunity to practice Kintsugi (gold repair) on a handmade ochoko (sake cup) crafted at Uzumako Pottery Studio. You can choose your favorite ochoko from a selection of beautiful colors. Using a brush, you’ll apply Japanese lacquer along the cracks, then sprinkle metal powder on top to complete the repair.

Your finished piece will be placed in a wooden box for you to take home the same day. Please allow it to dry for about one week before using it.

All material fees are included—just come empty-handed and leave with a beautifully repaired treasure!
