Lahij is an Azerbaijani urban-type village, excellently preserved its look from the historic past, similar to those that were in the previous centuries. In General, it is a national historical and cultural reserve, which keeps the reminders of the XV-XIX centuries. Lahij is located in the Ismailli region of Azerbaijan, on the southern slope of the Greater Caucasus, and there is famous tourist route which passes through it called "The Great Silk Way. Long since and to this day Lahij keeps the status of the trade and handicraft center. Here you can find unique, hand-made utensils made of copper, decorated with engraving as an oriental ornaments, knitted and wicker items, works made of wood, leather, souvenir knives and many other things. In the past Lahij was called "the city of forty-crafts" -each family was engaged in some craft.
