    Matthias Church

    The third stop is Matthias Church. You will have the opportunity to admire its interior. The majestic Catholic Cathedral of St. Matiash is an architectural gem of the old Buda. One of the finest masterpieces of Gothic architecture is named in honor of the king of Hungary, Hunyadi Matyas, which was enumerated by the Church to sainthood. You will be impressed by the abundance of Gothic elements of the Church of St. Matiyash. Striking in their elegance white stone walls of the building, decorated with high windows, delicate moldings, and exposed vertical edges, ascend up the many spires, pinnacles and towers. In the middle ages a sanctuary was repeatedly destroyed and restored again. Beautiful iconic building gained its current modern form after extensive reconstruction in the late nineteenth century.

    ● Next stop is Buda Hill Funicular, it is the cliff railway, which works perfectly, running from the Chain Bridge to the top of Castle Hill, near Buda Castle. The ticket is not included. The best way to get to the top of Castle Hill is by taking the Funicular and then walking back down.

    Holy Trinity Column

    It’s time to head to Holy Trinity Column. The plague column of Budapest or the column of the Holy Trinity is located on the square of the same name, near Budai fortress, the Fisherman's bastion and the church of St. Matthias.

    Sandor Palace

    Then you will stop at Sandor Palace. It is located in the Budai Fortress, was built in 1806 according to the project of architect Mihai Pollak for Count Vincent Sandor. Now it is the official residence of the President of Hungary.

    Fountain of King Matthias

    And the last stop is Fountain of King Matthias. A masterpiece of neo-Baroque fountain "the Hunt of king Matthias" created by the sculptor Aleichem of Stroble and architect Aleichem by Hausmann in the years 1899-1904. It adorns the wall of the Royal Palace and is located near the Northern facade of the former Royal chapel Zsigmond.
