It is the 40-meters tall monument located in the heart of Lisbon, that is dedicated to one of its most important citizens, Marques de Pombal, a Portuguese politician of the 18th-century. He is best known for taking the leading role in the rebuilding Lisbon, after it suffered a devastating earthquake back in 1755, which has left most of the city in ruins.
