This half-day tour in the city starts in the morning taking you to the enlightening Sultan Qaboos Grande Mosque, experience Oman through time at the Bait AL Zubair, a trip to the Traditional Markets (Souks) at the Muttrah known for its Gold, Silver and Wooden Adornments and finally a walk around the Old Town of Muscat including a visit to the Al Alam Palace and16th Century Forts, Jalali and Mirani. The Sultan Qaboos Grande Mosque, which features five minarets representing the five pillars of Islam, with the main minaret being more than 90 meters high. Built at His Majesty Sultan Qaboos’ personal expense, the Grande Mosque houses a library and centre for the teaching of religious studies.
A museum dedicated to the development of Oman. It houses an impressive collection of costumes, jewelry, silver jewelry and furniture.
We will go to the traditional Souk (market) in Muttrah, one of the oldest preserved souks in Oman. Gold and silver jewelery is found in abundance, as well as numerous wooden carvings, ornaments and spices.
