What to expect
Begin your experience at Kimono Rental Miyako Miyabi, just a 1-minute walk from Kyoto Station. Your rental includes everything you need: kimono (or yukata in summer), obi belt, socks, footwear, bag, and innerwear. In winter, men are also provided with a haori jacket. Free luggage storage is available.
After dressing, take a private taxi to Ichinenzaka 362 Café near Kodaiji Temple. In a tatami room of a renovated traditional townhouse, you will watch a short tea ceremony demonstration. Then, try whisking your own matcha and enjoy it with Japanese sweets.
English-speaking staff will assist you throughout, making this experience easy and enjoyable even for first-time visitors.
Afterward, take your time strolling through the charming streets around Kiyomizu-dera, perfect for photos in traditional Kyoto surroundings.
You may return your kimono at the café location or go back to Kyoto Station (return transport not included).
