From your accommodation or from the port of Naples your driver will pick you up and will head to the Amalfi coast. You can make a stop along the way for photos. The Amalfi Drive is a famous Winding road with breathtaking views of the beautiful stretch of coastline on the Mediterranean where we will stop in a number of places giving you opportunities to take memorable photos. UNESCO awarded the Amalfi Coast a well deserved spot on the World Heritage list in 1997. From the Amalfi coast we will drive in the Center of Positano. very famous vertical village, the jewel of the Amalfi Coast, thanks to its picturesque landscapes.
POSITANO We will drive you to the heart of Positano, where you can stroll through the narrow streets to the main beach passing by stylish boutiques, outdoor cafes and restaurants. Positano has been featured in several movies including the very famous ‘Under the Tuscan Sun’. Also very well known for the Linen, Handmade Sandals & Ceramics. The church of Santa Maria Assunta is also worth visiting which features a dome made of Majolica tiles as well as the thirteenth century Byzantine icon of a black Madonna.
When you leave Positano the driver will head towards the coastal road to Sorrento which is about a 45 minute journey. We can stop for a few photos before arriving in the center of Sorrento where you can explore the area and enjoy nice lunch.
SORRENTO Sorrento is the birth place of the poet Torquato Tasso and the main square was named after him where the driver will stop so you can have time to enjoy the historical area which is full of quaint cobbled lanes and a church on every corner and a fantastic mix of designer and souvenir shops. In Sorrento you will stop for a typical and authentic, Italian lunch that you can organize with your driver.
When leaving Sorrento, you will see the beautiful view of Naples and Vesuvio from the coastal road. When you arrive in Pompeii, the driver will stop for a couple of hours at the famous ruins of Pompeii.
POMPEII The Roman town of Pompeii, on the volcano's southern slopes, was caught unawares by a massive eruption in AD 79, which smothered the town, its people and their goods and chattels preserved for centuries, the site has been, and continues to be, excavated, so as you walk up and down the street you can peer into shop and private homes, read advertisements and graffiti and generally get a unique picture of daily life in Roman times. *We can arrange a private licensed English speaking guide in Pompeii for an extra charge. The price for the English speaking guide is 150 Euros for a 2 hour private tour.
Ending your visit to Pompeii, your driver will then head back to Naples Port or your accommodation.
